Every chicken-led menu needs one pie for the person who does not want chicken. At Don Pie, it is the Beef Pie, and it is priced like a main course rather than a snack.
What is in the Beef Pie?
The menu describes premium New Zealand beef, slow-cooked with a touch of wine. It sits inside the same golden, flaky crust as the rest of the range.
How much is it?
$13.80 personal and $58.80 whole, as of October 2026 from the February 2026 menu. That is roughly double the Original Chicken Pie ($6.80 and $33.80), and the most expensive pie in the range, as the Don Pie price list shows.
Is it worth twice the price? Our notes
This section is our opinion.
Beef costs more than chicken, and slow-cooking takes time, so the price is not a mystery. What you get is a darker, deeper pie: the filling is glossy, the wine gives it a faint sweetness and the beef is soft enough to break with the edge of a fork. It is less of a snack and more of a meal; a personal Beef Pie with a salad is lunch.
Is it twice as good as the Original? No pie is twice as good as another. But if you want one indulgent pie on a table of chicken ones, this is it.
Beef Pie vs the chicken pies
| Chicken pies | Beef Pie | |
|---|---|---|
| Meat | Chicken in chunks | New Zealand beef, slow-cooked |
| Liquid | Creamy, spiced filling | Wine-braised gravy |
| Egg inside | Original and Curry | Not mentioned on the menu |
| Personal | $6.80 | $13.80 |
| Whole | $33.80 to $38.80 | $58.80 |
Does it contain alcohol?
The menu says the beef is cooked with a touch of wine. The brand’s FAQ says its pastries contain no alcohol by default, which makes this filling the one to flag for anyone avoiding alcohol. The business as a whole is not Halal-certified; it uses no pork and no lard. See is Don Pie halal.
Who is it for?
- Beef eaters at a mixed table.
- A treat lunch, when $6.80 feels too modest.
- Celebrations, where a whole Beef Pie sits next to a whole Original.
If beef is your thing, Pie Singapore rounds up other beef pies around Singapore, from Aussie mince to steak and ale.
Where can I buy it?
Pies are listed at all five outlets, subject to stock, and the kiosks close early when they sell out. For a whole Beef Pie, order ahead. See the outlet guide for hours.
